Kabaddi Ground

  1. The dimensions of the court are as follows: for men, it measures 13 x 10 meters; for women, it measures 12 x 8 meters.

  2. Mid Line: This refers to the central line of the court that bisects it into two equal halves, with each half measuring 6.5 meters.

  3. Baulk Line: This represents the first horizontal line positioned parallel to the mid line, with a length of 3.75 meters.

  4. Bonus Line: This line is situated between the baulk line and the end line, measuring 1 meter in length.

  5. Men and Junior Boys

  10.  Area to mark the ground must be 20×20 Meter but not less than 17×18 meter. 

Rules For the Raiders

  1. The raider must complete the raid within 30 seconds.

  2. The raider is required to vocally chant the phrase “Kabaddi, Kabaddi,” maintaining a consistent rhythm and volume throughout.

  3. The raider must refrain from moving in the lobby without making physical contact with an opponent player.

  4. The raider must successfully cross the “Baulk Line.”

  5. Only one raider is permitted to enter the opponent’s court for each raid. Should more than one raider enter the opponent’s area simultaneously, the umpire will issue a warning; repeated infractions will result in the disqualification of one raider.

  6. A raider is deemed out if they are apprehended within the opponent’s court and fail to touch the midline.

  7. After two unsuccessful raids, the raider is required to either successfully touch an opponent or score a point. Should they return without a score once more, the raider will be declared out. This specific raid is referred to as a “Do or Die Raid.”

  8.   All lines will be of 3 to 5 cm width

Weight Criteria

  1. Weight Criteria for MEN                                Should not exceed 85 kg.

     

  2. Weight Criteria for WOMEN                          Should not exceed 75 kg.

     

  3. Weight Criteria for JUNIOR Boys                  Should not exceed 70 kg.

     

  4. Weight Criteria for JUNIOR Girls                  Should not exceed 65 kg.

     

  5. Sub-JUNIOR Boys and Girls                            Should not exceed 55 kg.

               Scoring System in Kabaddi  

    1. Touch Points: A raider earns one point for each opponent touched. If the raider touches three opponents and successfully crosses the midline, the team receives three points.

    2. Bonus Point: A raider can earn one bonus point by touching the bonus line; however, there must be six or seven opposing players present inside the court.

    3. Defender Points: Under all circumstances, a raider grants one point to the defenders if: (i) the defender successfully catches the raider, (ii) the raider fails to execute a “do or die raid,” or (iii) the raider touches the lobby line without making contact with an opponent.

    4. Two Points: Two points are awarded in the following scenarios: when all members of a team are out (Lona) or during a Super Tackle, wherein three or fewer defenders successfully catch the raider.

Duration of the match

   Men and Junior Boys         – 40 minutes, (two halves of 20 minutes &  5-minute                                                                    intermission between the halves.

  Women, Junior Girls             – 40 minutes, (two halves of 20 minutes &  5-minute                                                                    intermission between the halves.

  Sub-Junior Boys and Girls    – 40 minutes, (two halves of 20 minutes &  5-minute                                                                    intermission between the halves.

 Time Out                                – Each Team will be allowed to take Two “Time Outs” of 30                                                      Seconds in each half.

How to Out a Player In Kabaddi

  1. If a raider contacts a defender, the defender will be considered out.

  2. If a raider executes three consecutive empty raids.

  3. If either the defender or the raider makes contact with the end or sideline.

  4. If a defender successfully apprehends a raider.

  5. If a raider fails to continuously utter the phrase “Kabaddi, kabaddi.”

Golden Raid

    Even after 5 Raids, if there is a tie, the game will be decided as per the Golden
    Raid Rule.

    In the event of a tie following five rounds of raids, a new toss will be conducted.

    The team that secures the toss will be afforded the opportunity to initiate a                    “GOLDEN RAID.” Should a tie persist after the Golden Raid, the opposing team will           subsequently be granted their own opportunity for a Golden Raid.

    The team that accumulates the highest points during the Golden Raid will be                  declared the Winner.

    If no definitive outcome is determined after both teams have had the chance for a          Golden Raid, the winner will then be decided by another TOSS.

What IS LONA?

If entire team (7 Players) all out in kabaddi then two bonus points added in score of opponent team. It’s called Lona.

What is Super Raids

If in a raid, a raider takes three and more points then it’s called Super Raid. In Super Raid Bounce and touch points also Counted as a point.

What is Raider ?

A player cross the mid line and enter in opponent court for raid that player is called Raider.

What is Empty Raid ?

If a Raider Returns back towards mid line Without a point of a touch or Bonus point then Raid is called empty Raid and now point awarded to both team.

What is Super Tackles ?

If defending team has three or less  players on the field and they successfully tackle the raider and make him out than it’s called Super Tackles and additional point will be given to defending team.

What is do or die Raid ?

If a team Perform two back to back empty raid then third raid will automatically become do and die raid. It’s mean third raid cant be empty raid by the raider. He has to score a point either a touch or bounce. If a raider not score a point then a point will be given to the opposite team and raider will also called out.
