Evidence-Based Assessment of Agility Performance

Agility testing assesses an athlete’s ability to rapidly change direction, accelerate, decelerate, and control body movement while maintaining speed, balance and coordination. These tests are widely used to evaluate sports performance, monitor training adaptations and support athlete development

KEY BENEFITS ✓ Assess change of direction
✓ Evaluate acceleration and deceleration
✓ Measure movement control and coordination
✓ support sport-specific performance assessment

   What is Agility Testing ?

Evidence-Based Assessment of Agility Performance

Agility testing is a systematic method of assessing an Athlete’s ability to accelerate, decelerate, change direction, and respond to movement demands while maintaing speed, balance, coordination, and body control. It is widely used in sportsperformance assessment, athlete development, training monitoring, talent identification, and research.

   Agility Eight Key Components

The ability to rapidly increase speed from a stationary or low-speed position.

The ability to safely and efficiently reduce speed while maintaining body control.

change in direction

The ability to rapidly change movement direction while maintaining speed and control.

The ability to maintain posture, balance and stability during dynamic movement.

Reaction ability in agility

The ability to respond quickly and appropriately to an external stimulus.

coordination in agility

The ability to coordinate body movements efficiently, accurately and smoothly.

speed and movement in agility

The ability to produce fast, efficient and controlled movement during athletic performance

The ability to rapidly select and execute an appropriate movement response.
