WHAT IS MUDRA

Meaning of mudra in English is Posture or Currency but in Yogic Sciences its related with posture of the body. There is two types of the posture of humans body that is Sitting Posture and standing posture.

Mudra performed in sitting posture. Mudra is position of hands through it we can control the whole body system and maintain the body elements like Fire, Air, Space, Earth, and water. Mudra are so many types and its practice are different for every person. There is three types of Dosha in the body.

  1. Vata Dosha Causes      –     Air and Space.
  2. Pitta Dosha Causes      –    Fire and Water.
  3. Kapha Dosha Causes   –    Water and Earth.     

Mudra balance these five elements. To maintain each and every elements mudra is different and depend person to person.

In each and every Hast mudra sitting position are same. Practitioner can sit in Padmasna , Sukhasana, Siddhasna, Vajrasana or any comfortable position. Place your hand on the thigh as shown in the picture. keep your Wrist on the knee and spinal cord must be straight. 

Benefits of mudra

Mudra work like a medicine. As the medicine are different for each and every disease. In the same way every Mudra have different impact on the system of the body.  Few benefits of mudra are common but in long practice mudra benefits can’t be same. Only concentration and  Immunity can be improve with practice of a mudra. The main role of mudra is to balance the body vata, kapha and pitta doshas. Mudra practice should be under the guidance of Yogacharya. First of all  find out the which elements is abnormal in the body. 

Precaution for Mudra Practice

 First of Practitioner should know about the five body elements and after this take suggestion with the experts of Mudra. The Seven common Dosha in the human body.

  1. Pitta 
  2. Vata
  3. Kapha
  4. Pitta – Kapha
  5.  Vata – Pitta
  6. Vata – Kapha
  7. Pitta – Vata – Kapha
   Timing of Mudra:-

      Mudra timing depends person to person. Its divided in three categories.

  1.  Beginner
  2.  Intermediate
  3. Experts

      Beginner can perform 2 to 5 minutes, Intermediates can do 5 to 10 minutes and expert can perform till fifteen minutes.

 

SAMAN MUDRA

The meaning of Saman in English is equal. Yes its true because this mudra balance all the five elements of the body. This mudra also help us to improve Digestive system of the body.

PRAN MUDRA

The meaning of Pran is life. Water and earth are basic need of human being. According to the biological sciences water is most the important element of the body.
