What is Udgeeth Pranayama

The meaning of the Udgeeth is sound of music and when we perform this pranayama than we chanting the “Om” in exhaling process.

how to perform

  1. First of all sit in Padmasana. If you are no able to make padmasana than sit in any comfortable position. You can also sit on the chair but keep in your mind your body should be in relaxed position.
  2. Take slow breathing from the nose as much as you can inhale in a breath.
  3.  In this pranayama practitioner make two sounds when exhale the breath that is  “O” and “M”.
  4. “O” sound make to make their lips in oval shape and “M” sound create though the throat to close the mouth.
  5.  Length of the “O” sound will be three time extra from “M” sound.
  6. now close your eyes and start the practice of Udgeeth pranayama. 
  7.  Inhale from both Nostril and after this start exhaling from the moth with chanting the letter “O”.
  8. Now close the mouth , control on the breath and start chanting of “M” through throat. Its sound like “OOOM”.
  9.  The ratio of “O” is 3 and “M” is 1.
  10.  You can per form this pranayama 10 to 15 times. Expert can perform 5 to 15 minutes in a day.
